Goodbye, Great Grandpa!

This month, Great Grandpa Pincock passed away.  You and Mama went to his funeral in Idaho.

It was your first airplane ride, and Mama was  scared to take you all by myself, but we were both brave and went into it together.

You did such a great job on the plane.  You sat with Mama so well and loved waving at all of the people as they got on and off the plane.

Once we arrived in Salt Lake, Uncle Jason and your cousins Jordan and Corban came to pick us up.  You jabbered all the way to their house.  Once we met Aunt Cassi later that night and headed up to Idaho, though, you started screaming.  I think by that point you had just had enough and were ready for a bottle and warm bed.  That was the beginning of a long few days of you wanting nothing but Mama.

The funeral was beautiful, and it was good to see all of our extended family and spend time together.

During this trip you got to meet the rest of your Ricks cousins – Jordan, Corban, Taylor, Brock, and Daisy (the dog!).  You loved playing with them.

You pretty much mastered the game of peek a boo.  Aunt Cassi discovered you playing it in the back seat all alone –

We ended the trip by going to visit Great Grandma Pincock.  She loved you to pieces and loved showing you her baby.  You hugged it and hugged it which she absolutely loved.  She even wanted to send it home with you, but I let her know it was okay to keep it for herself.

The trip was kind of long and stressful for Mama.  It was hard to travel so far without Mommy – especially because your shyness came out, and you didn’t want anyone to hold you.  But you were such a good little lady on the airplane that I couldn’t find much to complain about.

We arrived home to a cold and snowy tundra and ended up being stuck on the plane for an extra 30 minutes.

Mommy was patiently waiting for us to arrive and I think all three of us were happy to be together again.
