13 Months!

What a month it's been, Sophie!

We were sick off and on. We had the stomach flu and then colds.  Again.

You always handle it so well, though.  Just snuggle right in with one of us for a cuddle.

You also got scratched by Ellie.  Sometimes you think you’re a puppy.  And I think she agrees.  Your cheek was scratched, but you just wanted to keep on playing with her.  She felt so bad…even put herself in the corner after it happened.  I was worried about scarring, but they were gone within a day or two.

We went to another concert at The Global Market.  You love the music, and I just love being together!

You also went to a concert at Mommy’s school.  I think you love going as much as she loves taking you!

You are learning to do so many things, Sophie!  You like to be independent in so many ways.  Your newest thing is to try to put socks on all by yourself.  You haven’t quite figured it out yet, but that doesn't stop you from trying (even when you already have socks on your feet!).

You love to sort things.  We didn't realized how much until Mommy gave you some clips to play with.  A few minutes later we found this...

You also love to stack things, but I guess you think you’re too advanced for blocks because you'd much rather stack cans!

You love to help out with anything we are doing – whether that be cooking, cleaning, sorting toys,

or folding laundry!

You LOVE watching If All The Raindrops (the Barney version) on our phones or the laptop.  You giggle whenever you think you may get to watch it, and when Whitney comes out in the middle of the song?  Watch out.  You absolutely ADORE her.  Mommy got you hooked on it, and now you stick out your tongue and say "uh uh uh" whenever you want to watch it.  Honestly, it can get a little annoying.  I blame Mommy.  You also continue to love to watch Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious whenever you can.

You continue to try out walking, but you are very cautious.  You are definitely a toe in the water kind of girl.

You are learning new words slowly but surely.  You now say “baby,” “bye bye,” and “woof, woof, woof” (in place of saying Ellie).  You also say “uh, oh” when you drop things.  You still have yet to really say “mommy” and don’t really use “mama” all that often.  We are both waiting for the day you do, though!

You enjoy taking baths…until you’re done.  They go from an awesomely fun time to a horrific torture chamber pretty quickly.

You love going to daycare and spending time with Nana.  This past month you also got a new friend at daycare!  You are a little jealous of him, but I think secretly you like having a friend there to play with.

You love playing with your dolls and often carry them around.

You also love to sit in your new chair.  At first you would always sit in it backwards and we would worry you would fall out, but now it seems you have the hang of it!

You love Mommy so much and love spending time with her (even when she shakes you all around :)).

You get so excited when she gets home at the end of the day.

She loves to come home and spend time with you.

She loves you more than anything and you two always have so much fun together.   I can only imagine the adventures you will have together in the future.

A few weeks ago you and Mommy worked together to make an art project for Mama! I loved it!

You love playing peekaboo and often initiate the game yourself. I love how much you giggle!

You love it even more when one of us helps…

You don’t like when you don’t get your way and have discovered this new shrill screech to let us know.  That is usually followed by a big pout.

You also don’t like to have too many pictures taken…but that doesn’t stop us.

As far as food, you continue to eat pretty well.  You like a lot of fruits, especially grapes.  You tried quinoa this month and LOVED it (although I sent some to daycare with you, and Nana said you wouldn't touch it)!

You like saltine crackers

and chicken noodle soup.

You also love to eat pears whole (and usually refuse them if they are already cut up).

You are growing up so fast, my baby Sophie!  Sometimes I just look at you and am amazed and how quickly you have gone from being a baby to being this adorable little toddler.

I love it.  And I love you, my little Blue.
