6 Months Old!

Happy six month birthday, baby girl!  I can’t believe it’s already been half a year!

This was a busy month for you!  You got to spend all day every day at home with Mommy,

And she made sure to plan lots of fun things for you!

I loved the days it worked out for us to have lunch together! 

You sat up for over a minute on June 29!  Unfortunately we were too busy rooting you on and didn’t get a picture, but you hit another big milestone this month…your first food!  You started off with rice cereal which seemed to go over okay… 

But it wasn’t long before you were ready for something more exciting.  You started off with sweet potatoes, then tried peas and beans and pears and bananas.  

While you seem to love your veggies, you aren’t so sure about your fruits… 

We also went to Pride this month!  We went both Saturday and Sunday to try to beak it up a bit. You got all cute-ified to celebrate!  

You enjoyed taking in all of the scenery…most of the time!

You were so good throughout the whole parade and even snuck in a nap or two!

For the Fourth of July we headed to South Dakota!

We went to the Great Plains Zoo with Aunt Ang and cousins Gabs, Jake, and Noah!

Grandma loved spending time with you and cuddling you up!

Everyone loved you there and spoiled you rotten!  A new friend, Morgan, even made you a hat on the fly!

We went to a special birthday dinner for Michele, and you got all dressed up.

And one day, mamas both took you to the Wabun wading pool!  You loved the water once you got used to how cold it was!

We also went to Wilderness Way with (most) all of the gang.

We had so much fun and you were, as always, so well behaved (even when Mamas were being silly!)

You got to spend time in your first lake!

The water was pretty cold, but the Wabun wading pool had prepared you, and once you were in the water you kicked around like crazy.

Most of the time you had your serious face on, though.  Usually when you try new things you are super serious about it, and sometimes we can’t tell if you like it or not.

When we first tried to take you out of the water, though, you let us know you were having some serious fun, and we shouldn’t interrupt it quite yet!

You got to spend time with some good friends including Uncle Marge,

Janet,

Patti,

Liv,

The Katies (only Leela pictured here…)

and Aunt Ennie (who gave you a very special gift!)!

You like looking at books.  At this point you like to suck on them more than read, but occasionally we catch you actually looking at the pictures!

You also love to drink out of bottles or glasses.  We have a sippy cup for you, but you prefer the “big girl” stuff!

You love being outside…

Especially when it’s with Mommy!

You love to look at yourself in the mirror,

And are completely infatuated with our iPhones!

You still sleep for 10-12 hours a night,

And when you wake up you never cry.  We usually wake up to you laughing and babbling away, content to wait for us to wipe the sleep from our eyes and come in to join the party!

You discovered how much fun jumping can be!  You absolutely love being in your Johnny Jump Up!

You love to move and have started navigating around your crib.  You are never in the same spot whenever we check on you!

The last six months have flown by!

We are so lucky to have you as part of our family,

And look forward to what the future brings!
